The
.Nm
driver attaches to Apple platform ACPI devices found on Intel-based
Macs and provides two independent functions through a single driver,
selected by the ACPI hardware ID it matches:

Attaches to the PCH PMC companion

or the GMUX GPU multiplexer companion

Arms Wake-on-LAN on shutdown for any interface with wake enabled
.Pq e.g. Va dev.bge.N.wake=1 ,
and follows the ACPI lid switch, blanking the backlight when the lid is
closed and restoring it when the lid is reopened.

Backlight instance.
Controls the panel backlight found on all Intel Macs with an internal
display, and registers with the
.Xr backlight 9
framework.
The correct control method is selected automatically.
